Today,drivers on South Hough Street in Barrington may have been surprised to see a small group of protesters carrying signs outside of the Village Hall.since they rarely see any protest rallies in Barrington. For example, the Barrington Tea Party group doesn’t generally stage protest rallies. We organize informational events so that voters can become better informed about major issues, meet candidates, and hold their elected officials more accountable.
Approximately 25 Obama supporters came to Barrington as part of their “August Action” campaign across this country this month. They staged this small “astroturf” rally to promote his destructive climate change agenda. It was staged by the successor to Obama’s 2012 campaign, known as Organizing for Action (OFA).
The apparent goal of this rally on a phony issue was to pressure Rep. Peter Roskam’s satellite field office at the Village Hall (open Tues / Thurs 9-5). One of the staff members listened politely to the views presented by the protesters, who held signs critical of Roskam as well as standard, pre-printed “Action” and OFA signs. If you don’t support Obama’s agenda, Roskam’s local staff need’s to hear from you soon on this or other issues…
